The Demand Disruption Podcast

What if the factors that fuel human trafficking aren’t just forces out there, but right here, shaping the world we live in every day?

Welcome to The Demand Disruption Podcast, where we take an unflinching look at how cultural influence, hidden pain, and exploitative systems contribute to the demand for commercial sex. This isn’t just another awareness podcast about a social issue. It’s about people, the human stories—of those harmed, those healing, and those waking up to their role in change. From the impact of a porn-prevalent culture to the powerful journeys of restoration, these are honest conversations that reflect the complexity and nuance of our unique experiences of simply being human.

Five brave souls shared a stage for one of the most revolutionary conversations in the fight against human trafficking: a conversation between those who have purchased and those who have been sold. They shared the pain that led them down their own dark roads, and the radical accountability they embraced to transform their lives.
This isn't just a conversation about human trafficking. It's a conversation about being human, about learning to accept and give grace, and how one act of love can change someone's life forever.
As far as we know, a conversation like this has never been done before. In fact, we were told it was impossible. But these panelists believe (and we do, too) that now is the time to be bold, to push past fear and break silos to move the fight against human trafficking forward.

Advocating for social justice can be exhausting. But what if the problem is our approach? In this episode, survivor advocates and demand experts shift the conversation from being "against" trafficking to being "for" restoration — exploring pornography's role, buyer rehabilitation, and the power of consistent, compassionate relationships to create lasting change.
Through frontline stories and practical examples, they explain how listeners can "plant seeds" in their communities through mentoring, honest conversations, and investing in people — and invite everyone to show up with hope, discipline, and sustained presence to build the kind of world we actually want to live in.

Why is change so hard—even when we want to do better? In this episode, the producer of The Demand Disruption Podcast and certified health coach, Christa Mayfield, unpacks what we get wrong about making changes and how we can actually transform from the inside out. Drawing from her extensive experience and trauma-informed education, Christa shares how our beliefs inform our actions and the science-based approach to understanding our worst habits and how to leave them behind for good.

At Demand Disruption, we believe change is possible for everyone—from former buyers to overwhelmed parents to teens just trying to find their way. This episode pulls back the curtain on the compassionate, science-based approach we use to support transformation. If you’re tired of white-knuckling your way through change, you’ll find a hopeful path forward here: one rooted in healing, connection, and the belief that you were made for more.

Victoria Sinis worked as a marketer and recruiter for a powerful OnlyFans agency in Australia - until she couldn't do it anymore. She visited Texas earlier this year to record this powerful conversation about the inside workings of OnlyFans accounts and the deep connection between the platform and the demand for commercial sex that Demand Disruption works to combat. Victoria, Joe, and Phuong talk about the pipeline from consuming content to soliciting commercial sex, the sales cycle behind porn, and the cultural implications of explicit content. If you've heard that OnlyFans is safe or empowering, you're going to want to hear this insider's perspective and what she's doing now to advocate against exploitation.

For an anti-human trafficking organization, we take a unique approach when talking about the issue: we almost never talk about trafficking. In this episode, Joe and Phuong break down why talking about human trafficking can only take us so far: the contributing factors are far more common and much more preventable. From the p.rn-driven sales cycle, to kids with unmet needs and unsupervised time, we break down issues that happen long before a human trafficking case and that desperately need our attention if we're going to see an end to exploitation. If you're a solutions-based thinker, if you want to know how the everyday person can make a difference, this episode is for you.

In this episode of the Demand Disruption Podcast, survivor leader Tracy Dudley shares her lived experience from a painful childhood to life on Telephone Road — the rise of her alter-ego 'Cadillac Red,' the descent into addiction and survival as a renegade, and the systems that drove her into commercial sex.
After a powerful healing journey, Tracy recognized that the skills that helped her survive in 'the game' could be used in her recovery and leadership. Tracy is returning to the streets through Project Girls, supporting women and their companion animals, working inside jails, and continuing to trail blaze new ways to love the women who are stuck on the streets.

Trafficking doesn't just happen one way; every trafficking survivor's story and experiences are unique. In this first of two interviews, writer, speaker, and advocate Angela Williams shares her journey from struggling in underserved Houston neighborhoods to experiencing sexual exploitation in Vegas, pimped in and through the music industry. Angela outlines the cultural influences and unmet needs that made her a prime target for traffickers and the radical shifts she made to finally leave the life.
Angela talks through her healing and faith, and the kind of honesty it takes to truly transform. She gives her raw opinion on the issue of legalizing prostitution, informed by all she experienced and witnessed for over a decade in "the game." She shares about practical prevention work in schools and law enforcement partnerships, and how communities can disrupt demand—from honest conversations with kids to holding buyers and industry actors accountable.

Angela's story is featured in the recently published book, Vegas Concierge by Brian Joseph. You can order the book here or listen on Audible.

Angela is also featured on three documentaries: Surviving Sex Trafficking, Buying Her, and High Class.

Today's guest, Dr. Kevin Wilkinson Jr., weaves together his academic pursuits and law enforcement experience to give us unique insight into the landscape of the demand for commercial sex. Dr. Wilkinson Jr. formally studied Demand Disruption's "Escalation Dynamic," a flow chart built from years of experience and hundreds of interviews with men who were arrested for purchasing sex. His research corroborated Demand Disruption's theory that the decision to buy sex is deeply influenced by mainstream cultural factors. Join us as we discuss the silent struggles men face in our culture, the problematic role of p.rnography, and the critical importance of courageous conversations across academia, law enforcement, and faith communities.
